One of Tennessee’s highest-ranked commitments, 4-star DB Antonio Johnson, decommitted from the Vols following an unofficial visit to Texas A&M.

Johnson originally committed to Tennessee on June 7 following his first visit to campus, but things have changed after his visit to College Station. He announced on Twitter, “My recruitment is now 100 percent open!!”

The East St. Louis, Illinois, native is ranked as the nation’s No. 12 safety and the state of Illinois’ No. 4 overall prospect for the class of 2020, according to 247Sports Composite Rankings.

The 6-foot-2, 179-pound safety’s decommitment leaves Tennessee with 12 commitments in its recruiting class, including three DBs. Johnson could still come back into the fold due to his strong relationship with DC Derrick Ansley.

Alabama, Georgia, Tennessee and Texas A&M, among others, have all offered Johnson. So, there’s a strong chance he’ll play in the SEC.

The Vols received a commitment Saturday from 4-star WR Jalin Hyatt.
