Alabama demolished New Mexico State 62-10 Saturday.

Following the game, Nick Saban seemed irritated. A media member asked Saban what he could take from a blowout win over the Aggies like that, and Saban got a little fired up. He even challenged the reporter, ““Why don’t you start calling around and see if you can get somebody else to play us?” You can watch his full rant here.

Well, in-state Sun Belt Conference member Troy Trojans would welcome that opportunity. The team shared Saban’s challenge to the reporter with its own challenge — a waving hand emoji.

Even with the challenge, don’t expect Alabama to schedule any in-state program not named Auburn.

“I think we have a very good model that’s worked well for us and I don’t see that changing,” Alabama AD Greg Byrne said at the SEC Spring Meetings in 2017.

Alabama won’t schedule Troy, UAB, South Alabama or Samford, and the reasoning has remained somewhat ambiguous.
