WATCH: Kentucky LB Kash Daniel accused of dirty play against Florida QB Kyle Trask
Kash Daniel is one of the emotional leaders of the Kentucky defense. But according to a video tweeted by a Florida sideline reporter, that passion may have crossed the line late in the loss to Florida.
Tate Casey, also a former Florida tight end, raised the accusation by explaining, “He spent about 5 secs trying to turn Trask’s ankle over on bottom of the pile, then Trask faced him up after.” The play in question came on a two-point conversion attempt with a little more than 4 minutes remaining.
This appears to be a healthy rivalry given Daniel’s viral reaction last year following the UK win in Gainesville, when he smashed two water bottles as the celebration began on the field. Florida players returned the favor after Saturday’s game, likely tired of watching the clip play on the SEC Network and ESPN.
If this clip reaches Mark Stoops or Dan Mullen, look for a conversation with the league office, or at least SEC officials being aware of Daniel’s history if a situation like this comes up again.
Tony you have it about 4 secs longer….? Kash Daniels is who I’m looking at but not during the play. You can tell a little here but not long enough. He spent about 5 secs trying to turn Trasks ankle over on bottom of the pile, then Trask faced him up after https://t.co/NBsSxfn7fi
