Florida fans were irate with ESPN’s Brian Griese Saturday night.

Gators quarterback Feleipe Franks went down with what most think will be a season-ending injury against Kentucky.

During the third quarter losing 21-10, Dan Mullen decided to go for it on fourth down. The Gators coach called a pass play, and Franks rolled out of the pocket to his left. Franks decided to keep it and try and pick up the first down, but he was hit by multiple Kentucky defenders and bent backwards. It was a devastating scene, and Kroger Field went silent. You can see the replay here.

During the broadcast, Griese said that Franks had some “off-the-field issues” at Florida. Well, that set Florida fans off, because he hasn’t had any off-the-field issues during his career. Sure, he’s been criticized for some of his on-field antics — most notably during the Miami game, but aside from those minor blips, Franks hasn’t had any issues.

Below is a blip from the broadcast that had Florida fans upset:

The ESPN commentator heard Gator Nation, too, because Sunday he clarified his statement on social media.
