Much of the news around the Carolina Panthers this week has been the foot injury to former Auburn QB Cam Newton, and whether he would play this week at the Arizona Cardinals.

Carolina coach Ron Rivera evidently had enough after a series of questions about Newton and his availability, or if he would travel with the team. Rivera previously said that former Texas A&M QB Kyle Allen would start if Newton, who has missed multiple practices this week, is out.

“I’m not going to talk about it anymore, let’s talk about Arizona,” Rivera said after less than three minutes at the podium, according to video posted by Jordan Heck. “I haven’t really talked about Arizona, so it’d be good to answer those kinds of questions. I know it’s about Cam, but I won’t know anymore until tomorrow, so let’s talk about Arizona. If not, there’s no reason for me to stand here.”

Once the questions about Newton continued, Rivera walked away.

“I just asked you to ask about somebody else, I’m not going to do this,” he said, as he walked away. “I told you I won’t know anymore until tomorrow, OK?”

Newton aggravated a mid-foot sprain last week against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, an injury he initially suffered in the preseason against the New England Patriots. The injury has been obvious to people who have watched Panthers games this season as Newton hasn’t looked like himself.
