The Washington Redskins pulled off an all-Iron Bowl transaction Monday, claiming former Alabama tight end Hale Hentges from the Indianapolis Colts while cutting ex-Auburn linebacker Cassanova McKinzy.

Hentges went undrafted this past April, but he made the Colts’ Week 1 roster. While he remained on the 53-man roster until Monday morning, Hentges did not appear in a game for the Colts, as he was inactive in the first five weeks.

The Colts waived him in order to promote cornerback Shakial Taylor from the practice squad.

McKinzy appeared in three games for Washington, recording one tackle and one sack. He also played in three games for the Redskins in 2018.

Hentges played for Alabama from 2015-18. He made 15 receptions for 124 yards and six touchdowns while being part of four teams that advanced to the National Championship Game. Hentges posted a career-best seven catches for 75 yards and three touchdowns as a junior in 2017.

McKinzy starred at Auburn from 2012-15, recording 258 total tackles in his college career. He also posted 28.5 tackles for loss and 8.5 sacks in four years with the Tigers.
