Florida is riding plenty of momentum following an upset of Auburn last week in The Swamp. But the Gators have an arguably tougher task this week playing at LSU at night in Tiger Stadium.

But coach Dan Mullen noted this early in the week that Florida’s situation this week is what makes the SEC especially difficult. A week after beating an undefeated No. 7 Auburn team, the Gators must now contend with No. 5 LSU.

From a historical perspective, ESPN researcher Chris Fallica noted offered some numbers on Florida’s situation at LSU this week. “Dating back to 2010, last 12 ranked teams to pull a home upset and face another ranked team as an underdog the following week: 1-11 SU, 4-8 ATS. Only win ’14 Ole Miss at A&M week after Rebels upset Alabama.”

Florida won last year’s meeting, 27-19, but the teams have split the last four meetings overall. LSU has won six of the last 10 in the series.

LSU is a 13.5-point favorite in the game, which is set for 8 p.m. ET. ESPN’s Football Power Index gives LSU a 76 percent chance of winning the game.

LSU is 4-1 against the spread this season, according to Vegas Insider, while Florida is 3-2-1.

The main matchup is likely to be how LSU’s offense fares against Florida’s defense as both are among the best in the country in several statistical categories.
