Since taking over for Cam Newton as the Carolina Panthers’ starting quarterback, Kyle Allen has been exceptional. And the former Texas A&M quarterback is even making history.

On Sunday, Allen became the first quarterback in NFL history to win his first five starts without throwing an interception, as shared by the Panthers on Twitter.

Allen’s first start came last season, when he led Carolina to a Week 17 win over the New Orleans Saints. He passed for 228 yards and two touchdowns in the 33-14 victory.

Newton started the Panthers’ first two games this season, but he’s missed the last four due to a foot injury. That’s opened the door for Allen to get more time at quarterback, and he’s played well, passing for 674 yards and five touchdowns while leading Carolina to four straight wins.

On Sunday, Allen went 2o-for-32 for 227 yards and two touchdowns in a 37-26 win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in London.

Allen played at Texas A&M from 2014-15 before finishing his college career at Houston. He went undrafted in the 2018 NFL draft, then signed with the Panthers as a free agent.

After spending most of the 2018 season on Carolina’s practice squad, it’s been a remarkable story to see Allen having this much success leading an NFL offense.
