A Jefferson has been in the middle of a win over Alabama for LSU before, and this year, Justin Jefferson said he’s ready to make his own mark.

Jefferson is aware of his older brother, Jordan, beating Alabama, but he’s also aware that, “this is the best we’ve looked in a long time.” He knows the history of the Tigers not beating Alabama in nine years.

“It’s not different at all … This year, we’re strong about everything,” he said. “We just need to fix the things that we made a mistake on (Saturday) and get it rectified.”

LSU players and coaches are aware the questions are coming about the Alabama losing streak, and especially now that the teams are ranked No. 1 and No. 2 in the Associated Press poll, the hype around the game in two weeks will only ramp up from here. But Jefferson believes this year is the time to end the streak.

“The last time we beat them was Jordan,” Jefferson said, according to The Advocate. “That was at Alabama. It’s time for Part II.”

Across the locker room, groups like the offensive line are taking it personal. The group, which has faced questions this season, has held up against Auburn and Florida.

“We’re taking it personal this year,” Lloyd Cushenberry III said, “and we’re just going to keep it going. … (We’re) just moving the downs. Securing them. Moving those big guys up front and giving the backs one-on-one matchups with the linebackers, and I’ll take that matchup any day.”
