Days after losing to Georgia and essentially suffering elimination from the College Football Playoff, Florida has also lost starting right guard Chris Bleich to the NCAA transfer portal according to multiple reports.

Bleich started eight of the first nine games of the season for Florida, but in recent weeks, he had begun to lose playing time to fellow redshirt freshman Richard Gouraige. Bleich didn’t start against South Carolina because of blisters, so Gouraige slid in at right guard.

Then this past Saturday against Georgia, Gouraige replaced Bleich on Florida’s fourth offensive series. Bleich didn’t receive another snap after that.

A former 3-star prospect, Bleich was expected to help Florida replace four departed starting offensive linemen this season. His massive size makes him a quality offensive line starter in the SEC, but his footwork and overall athleticism still need improvement.

Bleich will now apparently attempt to do that somewhere else.
