South Carolina is likely to be without RB Tavien Feaster this week against Appalachian State as he recovers from a groin injury.

Coach Will Muschamp on the SEC media teleconference said Feaster is a little gimpy and would be questionable on Saturday. But the injury won’t require surgery.

“If he isn’t back this week we will get him back next week,” Muschamp said of the Texas A&M game.

DL Keir Thomas, who has recovered from an ankle injury, is likely to be in limited action this week.

“We will see how it goes, probably 10-18 snaps to see how it goes,” Muschamp said. “Been awhile since he has been hit, taken on a double team, things like that.”

Thomas hasn’t played all year because of the ankle injury and infection. He could play the remainder of season and still count this year as a redshirt season.

Thomas was shut down for about two months, and only in recent weeks did he return to the field and get used to moving around at practice with pads on.
