LSU never beat Alabama when linebacker Devin White played for the Tigers from 2016-18.

In fact, the Tigers’ losing streak against the Crimson Tide goes back even further. They’ve lost eight straight matchups in the rivalry series, with their last win over Alabama coming in 2011.

But White, who is now a rookie for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, is confident that this will be the year that LSU topples its top SEC foe.

“Because we got Joe Burrow and Grant Delpit,” White told the media. “It’s simple, the two best players in the country on both sides of the ball.”

White also praised the Tigers’ coaching staff and stated that he thinks their defensive experience will help them in the matchup.

Although Burrow will be leading LSU’s offense on Saturday, it’s uncertain if Delpit will be patrolling the secondary for the Tigers. Delpit is dealing with an ankle injury, but head coach Ed Orgeron remains optimistic that the safety will suit up on Saturday.

No. 1 LSU and No. 2 Alabama are set to kick off on Saturday at 3:30 p.m. ET on CBS.
