South Carolina coach Will Muschamp was asked over the weekend about making changes to his coaching staff, specifically on offense, and he responded by saying, “right now, we just need to be more productive.”

“No, not at this time,” he said after the loss to App State. “We’re inconsistent in personnel in what we’ve got to be able to do. It’s a little bit unfair out there right now. We’re struggling in a lot of ways as far as those things are concerned, but we need to be more productive.”

Muschamp reportedly has the support of the school’s administration, but Football Scoop reported that, “The natives are getting a bit restless.”

“Our understanding is that Muschamp has the support of the President and Board of Trustees,” the report said, and added that Muschamp is expected to return in 2020, but with changes. “With the understanding that the program needs to show signs of advancing. Muschamp believes in his staff as is; but the powers that be are likely looking for some change in hopes of better results on the field going forward. It wouldn’t be shocking to see some new blood brought in to breathe new life into the staff.”

The Gamecocks have struggled with passing on offense because of a combination of injuries to skill players, freshman growing pains for QB Ryan Hilinski and dropped passes.
