Georgia has a chance to lock up the SEC East this weekend. Kirby Smart, however, says his Bulldogs won’t be treating Saturday’s rivalry clash with Auburn different than any other game on the schedule.

“It’s no different than any game so far,” Smart said on the weekly SEC media teleconference. “There’s no difference in the last three-four games. We have a chance to win the East and that’s our focus… we have to play good because that’s what will determine the outcome of the game.”

While on the call, Smart also answered questions about UGA’s new football facility, the Arkansas job and whether offensive line coach Sam Pittman, who some former Razorbacks players want as the next head Hog, is ready to be a head coach:

  • On the board approving a new football building: I’m excited about a new facility, I’m most excited about the weight room, meeting rooms, new coaching offices and room for the players so they can be here when they aren’t in class… It’s a big project, it’s going to take some time.
  • On the weekly grind of the SEC: You don’t do it in-season, you do it in the offseason. You make every practice, every opportunity as adverse as you can… If you stretch people’s brain to handle more, it helps prepare for the season… you are constantly preparing for that.
  • On Sam Pittman, could he be a head coach? Sam has an incredible personality and the kids gravitate to it. He would make an incredible head coach.
  • On the Arkansas job: Yeah, any job in the SEC is a good job. Is it realistic to play in the West and — there is no easy job in the SEC… You have to be able to recruit really well and make tough decisions. There are no easy jobs in the SEC and there are no bad jobs in the SEC.
  • On Derrick Brown and Marlon Davidson do they move around based on the offense?: Not based on what you are running… on 3rd down they do a good job of creating matchups, they don’t move them around much in the base look.
