The Miami Dolphins, once thought to be tanking, have suddenly won two straight games to all but take them out of the running for the top pick in next year’s NFL Draft. That also means that the “Tank for Tua” campaign to be able to land Alabama QB Tua Tagovailoa has left the station as well.

The Cincinnati Bengals are still winless, and the Washington Redskins have just one win, which came against the Dolphins.

Asked by Buffalo media this week ahead of a game against the Bills if he’s received any complaints about the wins ending that “Tank for Tua” talk, and QB Ryan Fitzpatrick responded.

“No, not yet,” he said according to Joe Schad of the Palm Beach Post. “It’s an interesting narrative that obviously has been following our team the whole year. But it’s been nice to get two wins and to kill the narrative a little bit.”

Interestingly, with LSU QB Joe Burrow playing well, he’s shot up plenty of NFL mock drafts and in some cases is ahead of Tagovailoa. Ironically, depending on the order and how many teams are looking for a quarterback, Tagovailoa could possibly be available for the Dolphins if they’re picking at No. 4 or No. 5.

However, there’s plenty of football still to play on both levels, so this is a story to keep an eye on into the spring.
