Clemson coach Dabo Swinney loves to compare his program to the SEC, especially because in recent years, the Tigers have measured up quite well.

That was the case again Saturday after a 38-3 win over South Carolina, the Tigers’ sixth straight in the series, Swinney referenced Clemson’s recent record. Throw in recent games against Texas A&M and Alabama, and Clemson has reason to smile.

“I know everyone says we don’t play anybody, but I think we’re 10-1 in our last 11 games against the SEC,” Swinney said in the post-game press conference, according to Marc Whiteman.

Perhaps simultaneously defending the ACC, Swinney added, “We’ve dominated 11 out of 12 games this season. There’s nobody that has been more consistent. … There are a lot of good teams in the ACC.”

Swinney has reason to puff his chest after Clemson notched his 27th straight victory and moved to 12-0 for the second straight season. It was South Carolina’s fewest points in the Palmetto Bowl in 30 years, since it lost 45-0. RB Travis Etienne also ran for 2 touchdowns which gave him 57 career touchdowns, and 53 rushing TDs, both ACC records.

QB Trevor Lawrence at one point completed 18 straight passes, and finished with 295 yards passing and 3 touchdowns. He played into the fourth quarter.
