It took only 40 seconds for Florida to break off a big play in Monday night’s Orange Bowl.

The Gators took a quick 7-0 lead over Virginia on a 61-yard touchdown run by Lamical Perine, who got into the end zone for the fifth time this season. The big play came on the third snap of the game, as Florida received the opening kickoff.

It wasn’t Perine’s longest run of the season — he had an 88-yard scamper earlier in the year — but it was certainly one of his most impressive, as he exploded through a hole on the left side and outran several Cavaliers defenders on his way to the end zone.

After an impressive regular season, Florida is looking to notch its 11th win of the season and end the year with a big bowl victory. The Gators’ only two losses this season came against two of the top teams in the country, LSU and Georgia.
