Jeremy Banks remains enrolled at Tennessee, but it’s uncertain what his future may hold.

While Vols head coach Jeremy Pruitt has continued to support Banks, who was dismissed from the team in October following a pair of incidents, but he hasn’t shared whether the linebacker will be back on the squad eventually.

“Is Jeremy Banks a guy I believe in and I think has a bright future and can learn from his mistakes? Sure he can,” Pruitt said during a recent appearance on WNML. “We’ve all made mistakes. Just in this day and time with social media, the mistake that Jeremy made was something that will never go away. It’s something that hopefully he’ll learn from and he can use it as motivation and possibly impact other people that they won’t make the same mistakes he made in the future.”

Banks was arrested in September because of a traffic warrant for a failure to appear in court for a July misdemeanor for driving with a suspended license. There was also police video released showing Banks using profanities toward University of Tennessee police officers, as well as him being told to have no contact with a woman who said he had been harassing her for months.

Banks was a 4-star recruit in the Vols’ 2018 recruiting class who played running back and rushed for 185 yards and three touchdowns in his first season at the school. He had seven tackles and two interceptions this past season.
