LSU’s exodus of players from the 2019 team continues with news that a backup kicker has entered the transfer portal.

Brody Miller of The Athletic reported: “Backup #LSU kicker Connor Culp has entered the transfer portal, sources tell The Athletic. Culp was LSU’s starting kicker in 2017 before losing the job and then sitting behind Cole Tracy and Cade York the past two seasons. He’ll have one year of eligibility remaining.”

The Phoenix, Arizona native was 11-of-16 kicking in 2017 as a freshman, and he also was 20-for-23 on point-after touchdowns. Culp converted eight straight field goals over a four-game span, including four against Ole Miss and a career-long 47-yarder. The streak started with 38-yard field goal in win over Florida and continued with kicks of 42 and 36 yards in win over Auburn.

He redshirted in 2016, so Culp has one season of eligibility remaining.

Coming out of high school, Culp was a composite 3-star, and ranked as the No. 9 kicker in the country and the No. 17 player in Arizona by 247Sports.

Culp graduated from LSU last month with a degree in general business.
