Florida continues to stay hot on the recruiting trail, adding another prospect to its highly-ranked 2021 recruiting class.

On Friday, the Gators secured the pledge of in-state TE Gage Wilcox. The Tampa native is rated 4-stars, the No. 11 tight end, No. 34 Florida product and No. 248 prospect nationally in the class on the 247Sports Composite. The Jefferson standout currently has 18 scholarship offers and framed his commitment announcement as a decision between Florida and Georgia.

Wilcox announced his commitment via a live video streamed on Instagram. Twitter user @CurtisK421 screen-recorded the broadcast and shared an embeddable 28-second video on the social media platform.

Florida recently named Tim Brewster as its new tight ends coach after Larry Scott departed to become the head coach at Howard. Brewster, long known as one of the sport’s top recruiters, was quick to celebrate his new tight end pledge.

Brewster recently discussed recruiting against Georgia and the importance of turning top in-state prospects into Gators.

Florida’s 2021 class now has 13 commitments. It ranks No. 1 in the SEC and No. 2 nationally on the Composite.

Brewster teased that the Gators could be getting more good news.

“There’s another guy out there I’m hoping to hear from soon….😎 ” Brewster tweeted.
