On a night that won’t be forgotten anytime soon, Tennessee pulled a thrilling come-from-behind upset over No. 6 Kentucky 81-73.

The Wildcats led 42-31 at halftime and stretched the lead to as many as 17 points before the Vols came roaring back on Senior Night in Rupp Arena. Tennessee’s defense settled in in the 2nd half and the Vols outscored Kentucky 35-17 over the final 12 minutes of the game.

John Fulkerson was unstoppable, as he scored 27 points, 6 rebounds and 2 assists to lead Tennessee. Jordan Bowden, Yves Pons and Josiah-Jordan James all finished with double figures.

For Rick Barnes, it was his 7th win over Kentucky during his Tennessee tenure, including his 2nd at Rupp.

Following the upset, the official Tennessee basketball account shared a video of the locker room celebration of the players dancing and chanting.

Fulkerson, who scored a career-high 27 points, was treated like a king once he hit the locker room. Fulkerson, however, wanted to make it about the school name on his jersey as opposed to about him.

Things don’t get any easier for Tennessee. The Vols host No. 17 Auburn Saturday in Thompson-Boling Area at 12:00 p.m. ET.
