After parting with Mark Richt, Georgia brought in UGA alum Kirby Smart to take Bulldogs football to the next level and win the program’s first national championship since 1980. Herschel Walker is confident that Smart will get it done for the Dawgs.

‘That is why I say ‘when he wins a championship.’ Because it is coming,” Walker recently told WSB for a “Bulldogs Game Day” interview. “I think he is doing one heck of a job. I want all the players to know that you got one of the best coaches in college football today.”

It’s hard to argue with Walker that it’s a feeling of “when not it” for the Dawgs under Smart. 247Sports rated the Bulldogs’ roster No. 3 on its Team Talent Composite for the 2019 season. After the 2019 campaign, which saw Smart’s squad claim its third-straight SEC East title, Georgia signed the No. 1 2020 recruiting class. In addition to the influx of talent, Smart has also upgraded his coaching staff, with the hiring of Todd Monken as new offensive coordinator the headlining addition.
