No surprise here, Gus Malzahn doesn’t envision himself ever hanging out with Nick Saban once the two coaches retire from the coaching profession.

Some Auburn fans have been quick to call out Malzahn for his flaws at various times during his head coaching career on The Plains but the one thing all Tiger fans can agree upon, no one else in the Southeastern Conference has Saban’s number quite like the Auburn head coach.

Since taking over at Auburn in 2013, Malzahn is 3-4 against Saban including last season’s 48-45 win over the Crimson Tide.

In what is viewed by many as the best rivalry in college football, the love loss appears to extend into the coaching ranks of the series.

Here’s what Malzahn had to say when asked if he envisioned ever getting together with Saban following the end of their coaching careers on the 247Sports “Social Distance” interview series.

“It’s a rivalry,” Malzahn answered. “I’ve been here a long time. He’s been there a long time. Some say it’s the best rivalry in college football. So, I doubt it.”

In other words, don’t hold your breath.
