Alabama has started summer workouts much like every team in the SEC. The NCAA allowed football teams to have organized workouts starting July 13 ahead of fall camp, which is scheduled to start early August.

Players can participate in conditioning, weight training and film review until July 23.

Freshman wide receiver Javon Baker was singled out by strength and conditioning coach Dr. Matt Rhea, who joined the Crimson Tide staff this past offseason.

Baker, from Powder Springs, Georgia, was rated as a 4-star prospect and was ranked as the nation’s No. 34 overall wide receiver and the state of Georgia’s No. 34 overall prospect for the class of 2020, according to 247Sports Composite Rankings.

It’ll be tough for the 6-foot-1, 196-pound pass catcher to break into the receiver rotation, because Alabama is absolutely loaded at the position. However, turning heads so soon on campus is a pretty big deal, as he joined the team this summer.
