Position U rankings are always up for debate, but if you ask former Alabama wide receiver Jerry Jeudy, there is no debate on who Wide Receiver U is.

Jeudy, the first-round NFL Draft pick of the Denver Broncos, joined the most recent edition of the “Load Management” podcast. Jeudy ranked Julio Jones as the top wide receiver in the NFL right now, and Amari Cooper and Calvin Ridley also made his top 5.

The former Tide star was then asked who college football’s Wide Receiver U really is.

“Wide Receiver U? You had 2 of the first wide receivers taken in the draft; so, it’s got to be Alabama.,” Jeudy said. “Next year, you’re going to have another 2 wide receivers taken in the first round; so, you can’t compete with that.”

Henry Ruggs III joined Jeudy as the top 2 wide receivers off the board in the 2020 NFL Draft, with Ruggs going No. 12 overall to the Raiders as the first receiver taken. Jeudy was next at No. 15 to the Broncos.

Jeudy is also not wrong about next year’s draft, as DeVonta Smith and Jaylen Waddle could easily be first-round picks, too. Specifically for 2020, Jeudy may be right, although LSU — Ja’Marr Chase and Terrace Marshall Jr. — would have something to say about that.

Historically, USC, Ohio State, FSU and LSU would all have strong arguments to be the official Wide Receiver U.
