We’re just a little over a month until we get to see SEC football once again.

The league pushed back the start date (September 26) due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and teams will now play 10-game conference-only schedules.

In addition to previously announced opponents, the SEC added Eastern Division foes Missouri and Kentucky to Alabama’s 2020 schedule. ESPN’s Football Power Index ranks Alabama No. 3 entering the season, as Clemson and Ohio State (The Big Ten elected no to play this fall) are ranked ahead of the Tide.

The FPI also predicts Alabama’s win-loss record at 9-1 for the season. The index also says Alabama has only a 14 percent chance of going undefeated and a 41.6 percent chance of winning the conference. The Tide’s game-by-game predictions are below:

  • Sept. 26: @ Missouri (94.7 percent win probability)
  • Oct. 3: vs. Texas A&M (86.5 percent win probability)
  • Oct. 10: @ Ole Miss (91.6 percent win probability)
  • Oct. 17: vs. Georgia (72.5 percent win probability)
  • Oct. 24: @ Tennessee (91.1 percent win probability)
  • Oct. 31: vs. Mississippi State (97.7 percent win probability)
  • Nov. 14: @ LSU (57.6 percent win probability)
  • Nov. 21: vs. Kentucky (94.7 percent win probability)
  • Nov. 28: vs. Auburn (78.9 percent win probability)
  • Dec. 5: @ Arkansas (95.3 percent win probability)

The FPI projects that LSU (57.6 percent chance of winning) will be the Tide’s toughest opponent this season, followed by October 17’s showdown against Georgia (72.5 percent chance of winning).

Will LSU wind up and be the Tide’s toughest game, or will it be Georgia? Alabama can’t sleep on Texas A&M or Auburn either. This should be a fantastic all-conference season.
