Social media burns Kirby Smart on Mark Richt comparisons after loss to Alabama
Alabama’s Saturday night win over Kirby Smart’s Georgia Bulldogs is leading to a lot of tweets about a certain former UGA coach. As fans can expect any time Smart’s Dawgs come up short in a big game, the current Georgia coach is being compared to his predecessor, Mark Richt. It certainly doesn’t slow comparisons that the two have similar records through 60 games (Richt’s 49-11 mark to Smart’s 47-13).
Judging by fans on Twitter, Smart will continue to be negatively compared to Richt until he can beat Alabama. Here’s a sample of the tweets comparing the two Bulldog head coaches

I hate to say it, but Kirby Smart is basically Mark Richt 2.0. I like Stetson, but we could see that he was struggling. Make the adjustment to JT.

Mark Richt averaged 10 wins a year…. and was fired because he couldn’t when the big games…. … let me know what’s different about Kirby

Mark Richt 2.0. Totally agree. Tired of all these recruiting classes with the exact same results on the field year after year after year….Florida should just put us out of our misery so we don't have to get embarrassed again by saban in the SEC championship
