Former Texas A&M star Mike Evans struck up a close relationship with a 23-year-old Tampa Bay Bucs fan who lost a battle with cancer in July. Evans honored Macro Solis on custom cleats on Sunday as the Bucs took on the Green Bay Packers.

In May, Evans surprised Solis, a lifelong Bucs fan who was diagnosed with cancer last year. His dream was to meet his favorite player, Evans, and Evans made that come true this week as best he could, Buccaneers.com reported.

Evans FaceTimed Marco, who was in his hospital bed at Moffitt Cancer Center, surrounded by his family and healthcare team. Evans said hello to the doctors and nurses in the room and they talked football and life.

Evans himself got a little choked up, saying, “My man,” after hearing the excitement in Marco’s voice.

Marco, in a video also shared by the Bucs, said, “Yeah but who can beat the Bucs? Nobody!” as he laughs.

Evans this season has 22 catches in five games for 271 yards and six touchdowns.
