The dawn of the Tua Tagovailoa era has Miami Dolphins fans hopeful they finally have their first franchise quarterback since Dan Marino.

And when the former Alabama quarterback takes the field on Nov. 1 vs. the Los Angeles Rams, he’ll also interestingly be the first lefty starter under center since the Dallas Cowboys’ Kellen Moore in Week 17 of the 2015 season.

What a wild, fun fact.

It just goes to show how unique it is being a left-handed quarterback.

The one-time Heisman Trophy finalist entered the Dolphins’ 24-0 shutout vs. the Jets for the final drive, completing both of his passes for 9 yards.

Tagovailoa is the 22nd quarterback to start for the Dolphins after Marino retired in 1999.

With Joe Burrow and Justin Herbert already starting for their respective teams, the anticipation now turns to see how Tagovailoa performs in his debut. If Tagovailoa is anything close to the Alabama version of himself, Dolphins fans will be thrilled for the future.
