Stephen F. Austin got a huge win on Saturday with a 35-32 overtime victory against Abilene Christian.

But after the game, it was the shirtless celebration by coach Colby Carthel, who also absorbed an ice bucket bath during the celebration with his players. His players seemed to love it, especially when Carthel swung his shirt above his head like a towel.

It was a big game for QB Trae Self who passed for 352 yards and three touchdowns. Self’s 16-yard scoring pass to Chad Aune in the extra session served as the game winner. Blair Zepeda’s 35-yard field goal in overtime gave the Wildcats their last lead at 32-29, according to the Associated Press.

Stephen F. Austin scored two touchdowns, one with 2:23 left in regulation and the other with 51 seconds left to force overtime.

The Lumberjacks won after the touchdown came after the Wildcats had to settle for a field goal in the opening possession of overtime to take a 32-29 lead, and capped off a wild fourth quarter and overtime which saw the two teams score 39 of the game’s combined 67 points in the final two frames.
