CFB consultant believes coaching carousel may be busy this offseason after all

The conventional wisdom this year has held that because of the financial troubles related to the coronavirus pandemic, that athletic departments across the country would refrain from firing coaches to avoid having to pay hefty buyouts.
But Dave Bartoo, a consultant in the college sports industry, told the Chuck Oliver Show that college ADs, presidents and board of trustees are looking to make head coaching moves this offseason, and could even see some coming soon. He said turnover may be the, “biggest you’ve ever seen.”
“Last week was a bloodletting,” Bartoo said. “Let’s just say the level of hot seat went from zero to 60 in about 12 hours.”
Years of discontent at several schools may be coming to a boiling point at multiple programs from coast to coast, including at Tennessee, in the fourth year for Jeremy Pruitt losing to first-year coach Sam Pittman, and South Carolina, getting blown out by Texas A&M, are among them, Bartoo said.
“I think those two fan bases, along with some other people, really reached their breaking point,” he said.
