Georgia men’s basketball had to pivot quickly following a positive case for its opponent in Athens on Sunday, Garder-Webb, and coach Tom Crean’s team quickly found Florida A&M to replace the game on its schedule.

The previously scheduled tipoff time will remain at 2 p.m. for the A&M game, and be televised on the SEC Network.

“While we were disappointed the Gardner-Webb game was cancelled, we’re excited to have the opportunity to play Florida A&M,” Crean said. “Like I’ve said numerous times, we have to be prepared to adapt and make sure that we’re ready in every possible way for what’s next on a day-by-day basis…and then be flexible and adjust if something else changes.”

Tickets for the Gardner-Webb game that have already been distributed will be honored for the Florida A&M contest. All tickets for the 2020-21 season will be distributed digitally.

Georgia will open the season on Wednesday night when the Bulldogs host Columbus State at 5 p.m. at Stegeman Coliseum.

Georgia’s roster for the 2020-21 season will feature six returning letterwinners and eight newcomers.

The Bulldogs wrapped up last season with a 16-16 record. Georgia defeated Ole Miss, 81-63, in the opening round of the SEC Tournament, the Bulldogs’ most decisive victory over a league foe during the 2020-21 season. Georgia’s late-season surge also featured an upset of No. 12 Auburn.
