Nick Saban's second positive COVID test causes reaction to focus on Iron Bowl, Playoff
Alabama head coach Nick Saban has tested positive for COVID-19 a second time, the school announced Wednesday.
“This morning we received notification that Coach Saban tested positive for COVID-19,” a released statement from Dr. Jimmy Robinson and Jeff Allen reads. “He has very mild symptoms, so this test will not be categorized as a potential false positive. He will follow all appropriate guidelines and isolate at home.”
The immediate reaction from fans and media centered on the positive test coming the week Alabama plays Auburn, after the first positive test came during the week leading up to the Georgia game.
Here’s a sample of some of the early reaction:
Nick Saban has also tested positive for juvenile diabetes and hysterical pregnancy.

How does Auburn always get so lucky? Nick Saban won’t be coaching the IronBowl.

So will this be the first Alabama football game coached by someone other than Nick Saban since Joe Kines led the Tide to a 31-34 loss against Oklahoma State in the 2006 Independence Bowl?

Nick Saban has tested positive for COVID and he has mild symptoms. He also oversaw practice on Monday. So will Auburn now cancel the Iron Bowl?

Nick Saban tested positive earlier this year and showed no symptoms. How many people have tested positive a 2nd time just to stack the numbers? I will NOT be getting tested nor will I quarantine after being around someone who did test positive. #PlandemicHoax https://t.co/wvwajOpFm7

Nick Saban has covid again. I wonder if the SEC will push back the time of the Iron Bowl so he can have time to pass enough tests to coach Saturday like they did the last time he had covid ha.

Nick Saban tested positive again. Let’s see how many “tests” he takes before he’s cleared by kickoff
