Florida is looking to move closer to clinching the SEC East as it takes on Kentucky this week, and the Gators are trying to stay motivated.

Coach Dan Mullen shared how the Gators are preparing for the game, and what to expect this week and beyond.

“It’s been solid, we have to keep that going. Our walkthrough has been pretty solid,” Mullen said on the SEC coaches media teleconference. “This is their biggest game of the year, coming to play, they know that. If they don’t prepare the right where, there’s going to be trouble. Knowing there is a team coming in here, this could be their season.”

Florida was ranked No. 6 in the initial College Football Playoff ranking which was released on Tuesday.

“I think there’s a lot of football still to be played… there’s another 4 week to be played, a lot of shaking out,” Mullen said.

About Florida’s explosive offense, Mullen said, “You have to have great players that are tough to match up with. You have to have depth, as a coach, it’s our job to as coaches.”

How does Kyle Trask match up with other quarterbacks Mullen has coached?

“He’s right up there statistically, if you look at that,” Mullen said. “Tebow did things differently, how he put up numbers, Alex, Dak, all put up numbers. You can compare them but they are all different. We scheme up to their strengths… they all have a really good level of talent and we put them in position to be successful.”
