The Rebels social media team was ready for this one. All it took was the final buzzer in the Egg Bowl to hit the retweet button, and post the bandwagon crashing right there on the field. They did it from the Ole Miss Athletics account, and football account for good measure.

On the retweet, Mississippi State made waves early in the season after its win at LSU to open the season. Since then, the Bulldogs have struggled mightily until last week’s loss at Georgia where the offense came alive.

Matt Corral was 24-for-36 passing for 385 yards and 2 touchdowns. The Rebels rang up 550 yards of offense, and hung on after Mississippi Stat had a late Hail Mary chance that fell incomplete.

Ole Miss won 31-24 after the Rebels built a 14-0 lead, and they handled 440 yards passing from Will Rogers as MSU matched them in the fourth quarter.

Elijah Moore had a game-high 12 catches for 139 yards, including a 53-yard catch, as he was targeted 15 times.

Both coaches, Mike Leach and Lane Kiffin, will likely have a colorful response to this one as they’re both active on Twitter.
