North Carolina will be without its leading rusher, top tackler and leading receiver when the Tar Heels take on Texas A&M in the Orange Bowl, which is set for 8 p.m. on Jan. 2.

RB Michael Carter, WR Dyami Brown and LB Chazz Surratt have all opted out for the Tar Heels, according to insidecarolina.com.

Surratt announced he would forego the Orange Bowl and will enter the 2021 NFL Draft, like his two teammates. He finished his 11-game 2020 season with 91 total tackles, 7.5 tackles-for-loss, and six sacks. He added one interception, one forced fumble, one fumble recovery, and three pass breakups.

Carter had 1,245 rushing yards and nine touchdowns, which led the ACC. In four seasons at North Carolina, Carter has 3,404 total rushing yards and 22 rushing touchdowns. He added 82 catches for 656 receiving yards and six touchdowns to his resume. Carter also returned kicks for UNC during his career.

Brown had 1,099 yards and eight touchdowns leads the ACC and is sixth nationally. Brown’s 1,099 receiving yards represent the fourth-most in single-season school history. He became the first player in Tar Heel history to record two 1,000-yard receiving seasons after having 1,034 receiving yards last season.

Texas A&M opened as a 6-point favorite in the matchup when the line was revealed on Sunday. The over/under is set at 71 points.
