Nearly a week after Raesjon Davis announced plans to delay his signing plans until February, the 4-star linebacker out of Santa Ana, California has decommitted from the Tigers.

He announced his decommitment on Monday morning.

“Tiger nation thank you for everything,” he wrote on Twitter. “I have had some great memories in such little time. As of now I would like to decommit from LSU and explore each of my options thoroughly.”

Last week, he tweeted, “I am signing on February 3rd to see all of my options out and know exactly where I want to go,” Davis said.

Davis plays high school football at Mater Dei and listed at 6-foot-1 and 215 pounds. He’s ranked the No. 4 outside linebacker in the country, and the No. 45 player overall, according to the 247Sports Composite. Ohio State, Arizona State and Southern Cal are reportedly among the finalists of teams other than LSU. He was previously committed to the Tigers since Jan. 1, 2020.

Davis actually made the decision and talked to the Tigers coaching staff Friday night but waited until today to go public, 247Sports reported.

“I talked to coach Osborne and it was really rough,” Davis said. “I haven’t talked to Coach O yet but I will later today. Things have been so stressful for me that for three days, I just felt sick but I’m doing better now and just trying to relax a little and think everything out.

“LSU is definitely still in it. I’m open to a lot of other schools though and just wanted to take a step back and think everything through. Me and my parents are going to figure this out and then I’ll sign in February but LSU is still a great option.”
