Deion Sanders is making a habit of reaching into SEC programs and landing transfers to his new job as head coach of Jackson State. The latest is former Auburn defensive tackle Coynis Miller Jr.

Miller opted out of the season at Auburn following a practice incident where he was ordered off the field. He was expected to be a backup behind seniors DaQuan Newkirk and Tyrone Truesdell going into the season. But the practice incident was not reportedly not unprecedented.

Sanders has landed several transfers from SEC programs, and flipped a blue chip cornerback commitment from Georgia last month.

Miller is a former 4-star defensive tackle out of Birmingham’s Jackson-Olin High. Jackson State received a commitment from 4-star 2021 cornerback De’Jahn Warren — who flipped his commitment from Georgia last month.

Miller was rated the No. 13 defensive tackle in his class coming out of high school by 247Sports. The other former SEC players to commit to Coach Prime is one of his sons, former South Carolina DB Shilo Sanders, along with former Missouri linebacker Aubrey Miller and Mississippi State cornerback Javorrius Selmon.
