Jeremy Pruitt’s first post-Tennessee gig reportedly isn’t set yet after all.

Earlier Wednesday, college football insider Bruce Feldman of The Athletic reported that Pruitt was working on a deal to join the New York Jets coaching staff as an assistant. New reports suggest that won’t be the case.

Since Feldman’s report, fellow Athletic reporter Connor Hughes tweeted, “The Jets are not adding Jeremy Pruitt to their coaching staff, a team source says. Not as DB coach or assistant DB coach.”

Ralph Vacchiano of SNY also chimed in sharing that a Jets team source said the team is not adding Pruitt to its staff.

Interestingly enough, Pruitt might end up going to the Big Apple to coach an NFL team anyway. AL.com’s Matt Zenitz reports that Pruitt “has had contact with multiple NFL teams about potential opportunities, per sources. The [New York] Giants are one of the teams there’s been [in] contact with.”

Giants head coach Joe Judge and Pruitt were both on Nick Saban’s Alabama staff from 2009-11 when Judge was special teams assistant and Pruitt worked as Director of Player Development (2007-09) and defensive backs coach (2010-12) for the Crimson Tide.
