The Florida men’s basketball roster for next season continues to evolve, and Colin Castleton has added another variable to the mix. The forward said he would enter his name in the NBA Draft without hiring an agent so he leaves the door open to return next season.

The 6-foot-11, 231-pounder out of Deland, Florida (Father Lopez Catholic) can return to school in the fall if he doesn’t get a favorable report from NBA coaches, scouts and officials. Castleton was a second-team all-SEC selection after he scored 12.4 points and grabbing 6.4 rebounds this past season.

Castleton is the latest player to make some plans for next season. Point guard and leading scorer Tre Mann entered the NBA draft on Wednesday, while guards Noah Locke and Quin Glover entered the transfer portal Thursday and forward Osayi Osifo announced plans to enter the transfer portal on Friday.

Castleton had a strong NCAA Tournament, including when he had 19 points, 14 rebounds and 3 blocks in the win over Virginia Tech. Then, in 29 minutes against Oral Roberts, Castleton produced 14 points, 10 rebounds and 3 blocks. He was 5-for-6 from the field and 4-for-4 from the foul line.

He’s had a solid stint at Florida after Castleton transferred from Michigan.
