While all prospects come with question marks when they enter the NFL, FOX analyst Joel Klatt believes Nick Saban’s latest standout cornerback is among the safest options heading into the 2021 NFL Draft.

Patrick Surtain Jr. currently projects as a first-round pick in the upcoming draft and during a recent segment for FOX Sports, Klatt not only agreed with that assessment, the analyst rated Surtain as the No. 2 defensive prospect in the entire draft with the “highest floor” among all defensive prospects.

“Excellent corner for Alabama, SEC Defensive Player of the Year, all the instincts that you want,” Klatt says in the clip below. “I think he’s the highest floor defender in the draft, maybe the safest pick, in the entire draft outside of guys like Kyle Pitts or Trevor Lawrence. Love Patrick certain everything that it brings to the table moving into the NFL.”

Surtain was the only prospect from the SEC to be ranked in Klatt’s top five.
