Christian Barmore may be in for a disappointing Thursday night.

With Round 1 of the 2021 NFL Draft just days away, the Alabama standout’s stock appears to be trending in the wrong direction. Bob McGinn of The Athletic reports that “several teams expressed concerns about what they say is his resistance to coaching and structure at Alabama.”

There are also concerns that Barmore, who was MVP of the national championship game, is “not a finished product.”

“He’s benefiting from the guys who played there,” one scout said. “He’s just a big [guy] who doesn’t make plays. At ‘Bama, they rotate guys like 80/20 or 70/30. This guy, it’s like 50/50, where he’s in and out of the game.”

On a Twitter thread discussing The Athletic’s report, NFL.com draft analyst Lance Zierlein chimed in that he has heard similar things about Barmore and speculating the former UA defend could drop out of the first round.

We’ll see if Barmore goes in Round 1 (Thursday) Rounds 2-3 (Friday) or in the remaining rounds on Day 3.
