Jaylen Waddle sported No. 17 throughout three successful seasons at Alabama, so he’s sticking with the number in Miami.

The Dolphins revealed rookie jersey numbers, including Waddle’s No. 17, on Friday in a social media post.

Waddle left Tuscaloosa owning three of the five longest-scoring receptions in school history. His average of 18.9 yards per catch for his career is second-best in UA history (minimum 100 catches).

Despite his injury-shortened junior season, Waddle was selected as a second-team All-SEC return specialist. As a sophomore, Waddle was named the SEC Special Teams Player of the Year and selected as a first-team All-American by the FWAA, The Sporting News and Pro Football Focus. He led the nation in punt return average in 2019 at 24.4 yards per return with 20 for 487 yards and a touchdown, including a long of 77. A 2018 signee, Waddle was named SEC Freshman of the Year by the conference coaches.
