As we go down the stretch in regular season SEC baseball, the dramatics on the field are reaching a high level. Tennessee did its part to add to the intensity late-season action.

Thanks to a three-run home run from Max Ferguson, the No. 4 Vols delivered a walk-off 8-7 victory over No. 1 Arkansas on Saturday. The Razorbacks set the table and went up by two in the ninth inning on a two-out double.

It was Ferguson’s second homer of the game. The junior hit a solo homer in seventh to pull Tennessee within 5-4, per Mike Wilson. Connor Pavolony, who made his first start since April 25 at Texas A&M, singled to lead off the ninth inning. Liam Spence followed with a seven-pitch walk against Arkansas pitcher Jaxon Wiggins.

Saturday was not the first time even this series that there were dramatics. Arkansas on Friday trailed by five runs after the first inning, and scored six unanswered runs to pull out a 6-5 win in the series opener at Lindsey Nelson Stadium.
