Ed Orgeron is returning to Los Angeles to take another shot at UCLA.

The Bruins may have cost Orgeron a shot at landing the full-time job at USC, Orgeron took over the program on an interim basis after Lane Kiffin was fired during the 2013 season. Orgeron went 6-2 as the interim coach at USC but lost his final game to UCLA, 35-14.

Of course, it all worked for Orgeron in the end as he now leads an LSU program just two seasons removed from winning the national title.

The Tigers are set to open the season in the Rose Bowl on Sept. 4 and according to Garland Gillen of FOX 8, LSU’s season opener has been selected to be broadcast nationally and in primetime by FOX.

LSU and UCLA have never faced off on the gridiron. The Bruins are set to make the return trip to Baton Rouge on Aug. 31, 2024.
