Tennessee has one of the more passionate fan bases around, and that was on display Sunday morning as the Vols got set to play their first College World Series game later today.

The Vols will play Virginia at 2 p.m. ET on ESPN2.

Tennessee is looking for just its second all-time win in the opening game of the CWS, as the Vols are 1-3 all-time in openers in the event. Tennessee returns to the biggest stage in college baseball for the first time in 16 years.

If the Vanderbilt-Arizona game is any indication, the crowds should continue to be large in Omaha. A crowd of 23,870 watched Vanderbilt beat the Wildcats in 12 innings Saturday night.

The Vols are in Omaha thanks in large part to their power surge. Their 50 wins are their most since 1995, and they lead the CWS field with 3.2 home runs per game in NCAA Tournament play. The Vols have homered in 26 of their past 30 games and have had multiple homers in 15 of those games, including seven games with four or more. Seven players have had at least one game with multiple home runs, per the Associated Press.
