Philadelphia traded Carson Wentz to Indianapolis this offseason after Jalen Hurts started the Eagles’ final four games of the 2020 campaign. One ESPN analyst, however, thinks the Eagles made a mistake.

NFL analyst Dan Orlovsky turned some heads with comments he made during a recent appearance on ESPN’s morning show “Get Up.”

“If the Eagles could go back right now and re-do that decision, I’m 100% convinced that they would not have taken Jalen Hurts (in the 2020 NFL Draft),” Orlovsky said, per the show’s Twitter account.

Orlovsky added, “If Jalen Hurts plays as well as he can, he can’t sniff as good as Carson Wentz is.”

Wentz was benched for Hurts in December. Philadelphia defeated New Orleans in Hurts’ first start but dropped the final three games against Arizona, Dallas and Washington. Hurts was 77-of-148 passing in his rookie season, throwing for 1,061 yards, 6 touchdowns and 4 interceptions. He also ran 63 times for 354 yards and 3 TDs.
