Former South Carolina star Jaycee Horn has already received rave reviews about his transition to the NFL as the No. 8 overall pick of the Carolina Panthers. Now he’s getting a little more from LaDainian Tomlinson.

“Jaycee Horn, in my opinion, will have a Jalen Ramsey-type of impact on that defense,” Tomlinson said on NFL Network, via the NFL’s Instagram page.

NFL fans might remember that Ramsey helped the Jacksonville Jaguars defense as a rookie in 2017. when the team made a run to the AFC Championship against the New England Patriots.

Jaycee last season made two interceptions in just seven games played. Horn averaged 33.7 tackles per season at South Carolina and more than seven pass breakups per season. He also led all SEC players with just a 33 percent completion percentage allowed in 2020. Last season, he led the Gamecocks with eight passes defended.

A second-team all-SEC pick in 2020, Horn in 2019, made 40 tackles with nine pass breakups and two forced fumbles. In 2018, he earned SEC All-Freshman honors as he made 45 tackles with two sacks and eight pass breakups.
