The Miami fan who made a “diss record” to rile up Alabama fans may have done more than just that. According to AL.com’s Mark Heim, the Hurricanes fan who goes by “Coach Coop” on Twitter is now receiving death threats from some Alabama fans.

The 31-year-old from East Tennessee is used to some fan bases overreacting to his over-the-top antics, but for a few Bama fans, his antics may have gone a bit too for them.

For his part, Coach Coop doesn’t seem to take the threats too seriously.

Coop told AL.com:

“At the end of the day, I’m just trying to have fun.”  “Most people don’t throw shots at Alabama.

“The Alabama fans – I won’t throw everyone in there because it isn’t everybody – is the first fanbase that has attacked me in that sort of way. Most people just kind of joke around and send some funny tweets back and forth. It’s such a large fanbase, and there so many different types of people, but this is the first time I got responses like that. It surprised me a little bit.”

The defending national champs face-off against the Hurricanes Saturday afternoon at 2:30 p.m. central time.
