Kirby Smart addressed the media Tuesday in Athens at his weekly press conference, and the Georgia head coach updated the status of injured star receiver George Pickens.

According to The Athletic’s Seth Emerson, Smart said Pickens had seen Dr. James Andrews and was cleared for non-contact route-running drills this week.

That is good news for fans of the No. 2 Bulldogs (3-0), but Emerson also noted that Smart did not give any timelines for Pickens’ return to the field.

Pickens played in 8 games for UGA last season before injuring his knee in spring practice this year.

He caught 36 balls for 513 yards and 6 touchdowns last season, following up his breakout 2019 campaign when he caught 49 passes, for 727 yards and 8 scores.
